RANT!!!!!!

I just need to get it out so I can stop being pissed about it. I’m so freaking tired of people just killing animals just because they a. don’t know what it is b. don’t like it or c. a combination of both. Its ignorance to justify it for those reasons. One of my family members decided tonight to kill a snake in his garage not essentially because of option c. He claimed he didn’t know if it was venomous or not but decided to, instead of call me who could have said instantly from the description that it wasn’t dangerous because it was a non-venomous kingsnake which in fact eats other snakes, to kill it. If you couldn’t already tell I am extremely passionate about this subject and it honestly ticked me off so I confronted him about it which. His argument was that he was just raised that way and if that’s ignorance then he’ll just stay ignorant. Which really set me over the edge because I believe its a common stance among many people in this country. I honestly wasn’t upset over the fact that he killed the snake, it was one snake despite the fact it really wasn’t dangerous. I was upset over his ideals that he honestly believe that because he doesn’t like it it deserves to be killed. BLAHHHAAHAHA. And if you do read this, PLEASE DON’T JUST KILL SNAKES, they are super critical to the environment and they DON’T WANT TO BITE YOU. Nearly all bite occur because people get all in the snakes space and their first response is usually run but if they cant they bite. So if you see a snake just ignore it or if you are really worried about it call animal services or something similar.
